Best 'Non Tank' model

My best model, apart from my Tanks, is Tamiya's 'Pibber' or Patrol Boat Riverine 31 MKII. This was used by The U.S. to patrol South Vietnam's rivers during the Vietnam War. It's the only Vietnam War model I've built so far, and I think its a really nice looking model. It reminds me of my favourite film of all time, 'Apocalypse Now', starring Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando. In the film the main character (Martin Sheen) has to travel up the Mekong River to find and assassinate a renegade U.S. Army Colonel (Marlon Brando). The journey up the river takes place on a PBR just like Tamiya's model!

My 'Pibber' Patrol Boat Riverine

This was a nice easy model to build, and I really enjoyed it. Again, I like the little touches I had to put on it, like the small amount of rigging, the 'Stars And Stripes' flag on the mast, and the ropes used to hang the tyres from the sides of the hull. The crewmen were a joy to paint with their individual facial expressions. Its details like this that I like so much about Tamiya's models, I don't think any other Injection Moulded Plastic model manufacturers manage it to the same extent.
